I just bought this book after wasting 99 cents on another one that didn't even work and this one is the real deal. The table of contents works perfectly and it's just a great collection of Poe's works. If you love Edgar Allen Poe as much as I do, buy this one with confidence!

It is all here poems, short stories, novels and essays. There is no index on my NOOK. However there is an index on my iPhone. Don't understand why that would happen. On the NOOK I can get to the beginning of the chapters but not to a specific piece. Have to leaf through the pages till I get to the desired writing. This is time consuming and depletes the battery.

I bought this since it stated REMASTERED FOR NOOK.
You need to set this to Publisher Defaults in order for it to format correctly, since it is ePub format. Even then it may appear askew in some places.
It would be nice if Barnes & Noble would tell us upfront what publications are ePub format.

I'm a huge Edgar Allan Poe fan, and this is great because it's the most complete- 70-something stories, 50-something poems and some other Poe essays. This is a great collection and its TOC is very extensive.
Read troughout the world, admired by Dostoievski and translated by the famous French poet Baudelaire, Poe has become a legendary writer, representing the artist as a romantic failure. A lot of his stories seem a description of the frequent nightmares he had.
But his popularity and his influence on literature - even today -depend less on nightmares than on his accomplishments as a writer of fiction and as a great lyric poet.
'The fall of the House of Usher' and 'The Cask of Amontillado' show Poe's mastery of Gothic horror. His 'The Pit and the Pendulum' is a classic of horror and suspense. He invented the modern detective story with ' The Murders in the Rue Morgue '.
But he was also a great poet famous for the lyrical 'To Helen' and for the incantatory rhytm of 'The Raven'.

but there are no table of contents! It's hard to flip through hundreds of pages for each story/poem. The search feature can only do so much.

Why is it that the cover pictured is often not the one presented with the ebook - if there's any at all? A lot of times there's only a blank page. I am very disappointed with the actual cover on this one.

Grpwing up I read some of the poems and watchd a couple of the movies very loosly based on the stories and poems. When I got the chance I brought the Edgar Allen Poe collection and had no regrets. If you, like me, enjoyed some of his works during your school days, I highly recomend getting the collection to enjoy all the stories an poems. Poe is an American treasure.

The sample mostly contains the poems. But that's good enough. And it does have four of his earlier short stories.
...
Quoth the raven "Nevermore."
Hey, I had to put that there! It's probably the best poem he made.
