This book is one that delves into the real world of Espionage. Too often authors try to imply that they really know what is or has happened in the world of spies. Mostly they fail. Thomas Murphy does not. It is obvious that his real background as a CIA retiree is used to make a informative and interesting story. The story line of Edge of Allegiance is very believable. The character development is spot on. You feel for most of them and would prefer that others would be sent to purgatory - or some place nice and warm. I believe that Mr Murphy left some room open for another book. I would be interested in reading more about Frank Manion. Who knows he may even be luckier the next time. Barry Evans
