Education Indicators: An International Perspectiveby Nancy Matheson, Laura H. Salganik, Richard P. Phelps, Marianne Perie
International education indicators provide the opportunity to compare Americas performance with that of other countries, to identify similarities & differences between our systems & others, & to suggest new approaches to the challenge of providing a world class education. Comparisons are among Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.K. & the U.S. Students in the U.S. perform well in comparison with their peers in other countries in reading & less well in geography & science; their weakest area is math. Public financial investment in education in the U.S. is among the highest.
