    Informative and Fascinating

    Edward I has rarely received the attention that he deserves, being preceded by his inept father, Henry III, and followed by his tragic, rudely murdered son, Edward II. Therefore, I was delighted by this thoroughly researched and fascinating book. If your mental image of Edward I is based on a few paragraphs from a standard history book, and the villainous 'Edward Longshanks' in BRAVEHEART, then you should read the truth about this great and wonderfully complex king.
