Overview

The summer of 2008 changed Edwina Emily Blair's life completely. A small time librarian she loved her predictable lifestyle. But her European born step-sister Cecelia had other plans. As the two of them were about to board a plain for Scotland, Cecelia was suddenly called away to Italy.
Edwina found herself alone in Edinburgh, tired hungry. When the hotel clerk told her that she no longer had a room, she fainted- right into the arms of a tall Scot standing behind her. Anxious to meet his fiancee, Alex Dunnegan whisked Edwina off to his Castle and that's when the trouble began.
The handsome Laird became the hero for the novel Edwina was writing. And Cecelia her beautiful entrepreneurial sister the heroine. Could it be any other way?
Edwina would find out that the stubborn Scot did not always play the part she wrote for him.

This story was ok but it kind of rambled on before the point was made. I haveread several books from this author and I'm glad it wasnt my first. Otherwise I may not have purchased another one from her. The book was also poorly edited which was irritating.

I am normally a Supernatul Buff but I was PLEASANTLY PLEASED with this Book.. I was on the edge of my seat during moments , Laughing out loud and even brought to tears.. I am looking forward to reading the second book by this Author.. The Characters Draw you in and you can not help but love them.. The trials all the characters go through has happened to some one or another.. So on some level I think anyone can relate.. I recommend the book to anyone who is looking for a good read or something a little out of their normal reads..

What girl doesn't dream of a romance with a dashing rather mysterious Scottish lord? An expense paid vacation, a chance encounter with a Scot and an unexpected job offer make this an enjoyable read. Edwina is a charming story about the unexpected romance of a small town librarian who finds love when she least expects it. Edwina has plans to accompany her step-sister to Scotland on a vacation when her companion is unexpectedly called away. Edwina finds herself alone and friendless in a foreign country until she meets a mysterious Scot who sweeps her off to his castle. What follows leads to an unexpected love and a family of her own for this unlikely heroine. This book from a new author is a must try for lovers of clean Christian romance.

Her insecurities were annoying! Way too much background that wasn't necessary and not enough believable interaction between the two main characters. Could have been a much better book. Disappointing.

This book started out with promise but was disappointing the longer it went on. I was so hoping it would be the wonderful story it had the potential to be, but it never did. There were also several mistakes and typos, lots of wrongly hyphenated words, and very annoyingly had numbers and the title "Edwina" every so often right in the middle of a sentence. Needed to be proofread very badly!

The storyline is cute, however the writing, especially the dialogue seemed wooden to me. Maybe forced. There is too much talk about what the main character is wearing, what she's thinking about wearing, what she brought with her to wear, should she change her clothes again.... There are several grammatical errors and many quotation mark errors which made it hard to figure out who was talking and what was really being said. Not my favorite book by any means, but not horrible either - just ok.

I sat down with this book, thinking to read just a chapter or two that day. I was quickly drawn into the plot and ended up reading it straight through in a day and a half. The main character, Edwina, was a woman I could relate to. She lives in the shadow of a perfect older sister, never able to measure up in beauty, talent, success, or confidence---at least in her own mind. And yet in her vulnerability and insecurities, she is warm, approachable, and real. I felt a kinship with her and couldn't help but root for her to land the man of her dreams. It's a great story with a satisfying ending. I'd highly recommend it.

Great at telling you about their perdonality without ever showing believeable behavior or dialog to support it. Not very likable characters as a result.

I wanted to like this book, I really liked the description. But it was like reading an extended therapy session's notes. The heroine was wishy-washy and there was barely any interaction between her and the hero. Then BAM! at the end, we are supposed to believe they are in love when they haven't even been on the same continent for most of the book? I don't think so.

This could have been a really cute story. Instead it was terribly annoying. The heroine was a whiny baby who was very insecure. Her sister was a beautiful rich girl. We heard this over and over throughout the story. There were numerous grammatical and editing errors. In addition, the interaction within the hero and heroine was limited yet they manage to fall in love. Would not recommend even if it is free.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I couldn't put it down. It was a surprise and exciting ending.

Good story but very drawn out and wordy. Took to long to get to certian points. Sometimes it seemed like i was reading a report not a love story. To much detail of unimportant things and not enough details in other places, don't get me wrong i love details to set the mood or get afeel or picture of the place or things going on but sometimes the book got boring , it went on and on and on. I wouldn't say don't read it, just be prepared

I absolutely loved this book! I could relate witht the main character and feel her joy and sadness as well as her confusion in the end and really felt for her. It was nice to read a book about a common woman who was able to overcome her fears, go on an adventure and come to find her own fairytale coming true right before her eyes! I cannot believe this is free!!! So glad though! I want to read the next story-- Cecilia. This is a great CLEAN read, with nicely developed characters, plot and storyline. It felt like I was reading the actual details of a persons life. I couldn't put it down!!!!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! READ IT!!!! :)

Edwina is a geat person--everyone who knows her says so--everyone except herself, that is. She thinks herself plain and beneath others notice. She doesn't understand how someone as handsome and wealthy as Alexander could pay attention to her and rescue her from numerous predicaments. He invited her, a stranger, to stay in his castle when she had no where else to go. He saw something unique and special in her, but how do you convince someone you love them, when the person feels unlovable?
