    I Also Recommend:

    Insightful and practical

Kenny Werner addresses the musician's hang-ups- we're under so much pressure to perform well that we block ourselves, letting fear interfere with fulfillment through music. He shows how that comes about, and gives a practical approach to getting off that train, and opening ourselves up to our own mastery and musical expression. The book is aimed at jazz or improvising musicians, like Kenny is himself, so it's up to you to adapt it if that's not your musical approach. In fact, much of what he says can be applied to many other fields. We all have the capacity for mastery in the field that we find worthwhile, but few of us allow ourselves the satisfaction of mastery!

stop being a musician and start being an expressionist.

I've read a lot of good books like Siddhartha and many others. BUT this book is by far the most amazing book I've ever read. Future Rock stars or future any other music genre stars, read this book. it will enlighten you to find your true self. your true music. you will no longer just play music. you will become music.

    A beautiful book!

I bought this book on the recomendation of a friend who lives in Manhattan and gets the opportunity to see Kenny perform often, and he was always very impressed with his performance and more so by his demeanor on and off stage. When it arrived, I read the whole thing in one sitting, and have read it every day scince. Kenny Werner has tapped a tremendous wealth of knowledge that would be benneficial to any one in any profession.

It's one of the greatest bargains in your life!

Girls and boys, pops and moms! The book is a marvel! My wife and me were looking for the secrets of outstanding playing for twelve years. In the end, we figured out the same patterns of success as Kenny Werner brings here to everyone to see. Brings on a silver platter, I must say. And although at a certain point, only for a few pages, he lost my interest, jumping ahead to other chapters rewarded me handsomely. What's more - he has a CD there!! For any lazy bum like me who can't record his own meditative script it works fantastically! Besides, for twenty bucks! Had anyone gave us this book ten years ago, we would save thousands (and all the misery we went through), plus we would earn a million or two. Heck, don't be a total looser - go to your local store and read it for free for a day or two - if you have any understanding of what life and music is all about , you'll understand that this is your new Bible for the rest of your life!
