Meet the Author

José Ignacio Velasco es médico especialista en Cirugía General, Traumatología, Cirugía Ortopédica y Rehabilitación. Desde joven ha sentido una especial inclinación por la literatura, lo que le ha llevado a publicar centenares de artículos, más de 40 cuentos y 6 libros técnicos deportivos. Su cuento de ciencia ficción Litobio ha sido traducido a varios idiomas y ha sido publicado en una primera versión en la Antología "Lo mejor de la Ciencia Ficción Española", editado por Martínez Roca en 1982. En una nueva revisión antológica de ciencia ficción, "Lo mejor de la S.F. española," ha sido de nuevo publicado por la Editorial Orbis S. A. en 1986.
Es miembro del Instituto de Estudios del Antiguo Egipto I(.E.A.E.), Socio de la Asociación Andaluza de Egiptología (A.S.A.D.E.) y colaborador de Amigos de la Egiptología (A.E.).
También es habitual conferenciante sobre el Antiguo Egipto. Egiptólogo especializado en el Imperio Antiguo, es asiduo visitante del país del Nilo en viajes de estudio. En la actualidad se encuentra escribiendo 7 novelas históricas sobre el Antiguo Egipto, de las que ya hay dos publicadas y la presente es la tercera de la saga Tiempos de Pirámides situada en el época de estas grandes construcciones, el momento de mayor esplendor de esta civilización.
