Got this to be the one and only guidebook I would take on an Egypt trip.
Not many glossy pictures. These only make the book heavier. Who needs pictures when you're going to see it anyway? Instead of pictures, more info.
All sorts of useful details about temples, etc. Including a useful map of each temple area.
This is a heavy book to take traveling, but no heavier than some skinnier, glossier books with less actual info.
