Author Biography: Robert Morkot studied ancient history at University College London, specializing in the Kingdom of Kush (present-day southern Egypt, Nubia and Sudan) at Humboldt University, Berlin. From 1987 to 1991 he was G. A. Wainwright Fellow in Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Oxford. From 1992 to 1998 he was course director for the Ancient Nubia Summer School held first at the Institute of Archaeology, London University and later at Birkbeck College, London. He lectures on various aspects of Egypt and Nubia at a number of universities and other institutes, and since 1984 has been guest lecturer on over 20 tours of Egypt.
