Description: This book meets the needs of both those who desire a refresher on interpreting electrocardiograms and those who may wish to learn more about how these important diagnostic tests are used in assessing and evaluating the electrical activity of the heart. The author clearly explains how the normal function of the heart, as well as any pathological changes, can be determined through the electrical conduction patterns obtained by EKG tracings or visualized on cardiac monitors.
Purpose: The purpose is to "demystify" the world of electrocardiography through the science and art underlying this subject. The author not only identifies appropriate and worthy objectives for this book, she also sets down, layer upon layer, a firm foundation upon which to build solid comprehension of the subject for use in practice.
Audience: The audience includes advanced practitioners who are looking for a refresher, who may be trying to add to and advance their skill set, or who have never worked with electrocardiography before but are interested in learning the principles for application in practice.
