Meet the Author

Hermann Sudermann (1857 - 1928) Novelista y dramaturgo alemán, una de las personalidades teatrales más representativas del período guillermino. Hijo de un cervecero, no tuvo al principio de su vida una existencia fácil. Su familia, perteneciente a la secta de los menonitas, había sido expulsada de Holanda y emigrado a Alemania. La fama, incluso fuera de Alemania, le llegó del drama El honor. Tras la primera guerra mundial, Sudermann pasó rápidamente al olvido. Sin embargo todavía hoy persisten sus huellas en la literatura de su país, así como un legado de numerosas obras dramáticas y literarias.
