Parece que al final ha descubierto a su asesino. Y cuando el inspector registra la casa del muerto, se encuentra con otra sorpresa: en el sótano se amontonan piezas arqueológicas y libros de historia. ¿Quién era este hombre? ¿Por qué asesinó a la mujer israelí? Para averiguarlo,tendrá que solicitar la colaboración de un policía israelí, con quien se lleva mal desde el principio.

Mientras, en Jerusalén, una periodista palestina investiga una carta anónima que ha recibido. En ella se adjunta fotocopia de un documento medieval y, cuando lo descifra, le pone sobre la pista de un tesoro de poderes místicos que, en el año 1100, fue transportado desde Jerusalén al castillo de Castelombres, en tierra de los cátaros.

Un objeto sagrado, de gran poder místico, cuyo paradero se desconoce desde hace siglos. Un tesoro por el cual ha sido asesinada gente. Un objeto cuyo descubrimiento podría ser manipulado para empeorar la conflictiva situación entre israelíes y palestinos. Un policía resuelto a descubrir la verdad, cueste lo que cueste.
