Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Dr. Judy Rowen
The Weather Channel provides a clear, concise explanation of the El Niño weather phenomenon. The 1997-1998 El Niño event was one of the most pronounced, and certainly received a lot of media attention, but few of us truly understand what an El Niño is. Read this book and everything will be much easier to comprehend. Photographs of the destruction wrought by El Niño related weather are included as a center section. Sidebars contain interesting facts that bring the subject matter to life, for instance, El Niño caused the price of ice cream to rise since cows in California had decreased butterfat in their milk because of the heavy rains in that state. A glossary and index are also included.
