Una película, muda, anónima, con un toque malsano, diabólico y enigmático. A trescientos kilómetros de distancia, el comisario Franck Sharko, de la policía criminal, acepta volver al servicio bajo la presión de sus jefes, tras haber abandonado el departamento. Se han hallado cinco cadáveres a dos metros bajo tierra que resultan imposibles de identificar, ya que tienen las manos cortadas, la cabeza abierta y cerebro, dientes y ojos extraídos. Al tiempo que Lucie descubre los horrores que oculta la película, una misteriosa llamada le informa de la relación entre el filme y la historia de los cinco cadáveres, y hace que Lucie y Sharko, dos seres absolutamente distintos, y quizás por ello tan cercanos, se encuentren para investigar lo que parece el mismo caso.
