Overview

    Moving portrayal of female friendship

This moving portrayal of female friendship takes place in Lima, Peru but could occur anywhere in the world. The story of two former classmates who have what seems like a chance encounter 25 years later, this book gripped my attention from start to finish. The two main characters, Veronica and Rebeca, who by all appearances seem like opposites, end up sharing an essential vulnerability. I was amazed by the insightful depiction of the female world by this male author. This is the first novel I've read by this respected Peruvian writer and I look forward to exploring his other works. I strongly recommend this novel.
