    5 Amazingly brilliant stars

Elect picks up literally at from the ending of Elite and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion. This book was so suspenseful I wasn't sure what was gonna happen and I literally could not put it down. Despite the drama, mafia craziness, and darker moments, this story centers around the most amazing of love stories. One person willing to give up everything in an effort to protect the one they love. Nixon has definitely made it to my best book boyfriend list. There were times his arrogance and behavior annoyed me in the first book, but he is redeemed completely in my eyes.

There are times this book borders on being like a love triangle which made me a little upset with Trace. I cannot understand how easily she fell into her feelings with Chase. Add in the craziness of the old history we learn about while solving the mystery of who killed Trace's parents and who is behind all the upheaval and I have to admit I was left a little confused. I am still not sure of the Nixon/Monroe/Chase family tree. But regardless, the story comes together well and I was not disappointed in the end. Another unexpected was Phoenix's POV. I really felt for him after getting more of his history and am glad for the way it turned out. I am hopeful based on the ending with Mil, that another book has to be in the works.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

*I received an ARC in return for an honest review*
In Elect by Rachel Van Dyken we find Nixon and Trace in love and happy. Yet, with family secrets on the brink of being discovered and some very upset Mafia bosses Nixon finds himself pushing Trace into Chase’s waiting arms. His love for Trace is so deep and true that his only goal is to keep her safe, even if it means breaking his own heart!
The Eagle Elite series is something special, and the 2nd installment Elect, does not disappoint! The plot is thick with romance, wit and suspense, which makes it an all-around read. I could not put it down. With each turn of the page I had to know what happened next. Rachel Van Dyken is amazing at putting the most beautiful and witty words through her characters statements and thoughts. I loved being in Nixon, Chase and Phoenix’s point of view. They truly are remarkable characters and you can’t help but love all of them, even Phoenix! This story kept moving, it is such an addicting series and I can’t wait for book 3.

I was lucky enough to get the ARC of Elect in return for my honest review, so here it goes!
Well, maybe here it goes. I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this review. Yes, I am that book hung-over with 'Elect' and trust me you will be too.  Run to your TBR (To Be Read) list and add it, and if you haven’t read 'Elite' add them both, you will. Not. Be. Sorry!!
I should start with saying that after I read the first book in this series 'Elite' I was hooked. I don’t do Mafia type books but Rachel Van Dyken has a way of catching your attention and making you want to read it.   When I finished 'Elite' and started 'Elect’ I was still undecided who I wanted to win Tracey’s heart, whether it be Chase or Nixon. However the further I got into the book I knew my choice. It was Nixon!!! (That’s right I’m finally on TEAM NIXON). If you are TEAM CHASE your loyalty just might be tested, much like the characters in the books loyalties are tested.
This book has all sorts of emotions, love, hurt (in more ways than one), tension, happiness, twists, and so so much more. At some parts in the book you may just end up throwing your reading device across the room and hunting Rachel Van Dyken down.
The Sicilians have traveled a long way to make someone pay for the death of one of the mob bosses. A life for a life, Right?
Nixon mob boss of the Abandonato family doesn’t know who he can trust to help him solve decade old mysteries. Sacrifices will be made, blood will be shed, and in the end someone has to pay! As much as Nixon hates to lose the love of his life Trace, to keep her safe he pushes her towards his best friend and right-hand man. To keep her safe he has to prove to the world she means nothing to him.
As with all of her books, I just can't wait for the next book in this series to come out!!

I was left wanting after I finished the first book and couldn't wait for this one to come out.  It didn't disappoint.  I was torn between two loves just like the character, and despite the fact that originally I thought the heroine was a push over, she came into her own and managed to keep a handle on the life that she never expected.  I highly recommend the Eagle Elite series to everyone!

    4.5 Outstanding, Mob-Worthy Stars!
Two Men, One Girl and A Bunch Of Offenders With A Godfather Complex! Yeah, This Story Rocked!

Elect is book two in the Eagle Elite series and is a New Adult, Contemporary Romance written by Rachel Van Dyken.

    The Review:
Take me now! I absolutely LOVED this read!

This book was very different than the first in the series. First off, it was from both male leads POV, Nixon and Chase, which I totally loved! With all the drama that was carried out, I think the author made a wise choice writing from their alternating POV’s. Reading in their voice, hearing their frustrations and thoughts and feelings would have been worth it even if the story wasn’t good. But the story itself was wonderful! In the first book, I was confused half the time about “why” everything was happening and I questioned the story, character motives and wondered at all the plot holes, yet I strangely couldn’t put it down. In this book? I couldn't put it down for an entirely different reason. It was thrilling, sexy, smart, frustrating, heartbreaking, emotional and so much fun as we watched Nixon and Chase rule their organization, snuff out traitors and rats and fall all over themselves for the same girl.

    Quote Spotlight...
“... romance isn’t something you work at - not when you find the right girl. When you fall in love, when you take that leap, it’s as natural as breathing; it’s as simple as that. I’m romantic because my heart demands I be nothing less than one hundred percent, for you, day and night.”

Nixon and Chase both broke my heart with how much they loved and were willing to sacrifice for Trace. She was the center of both their worlds and along with trying to win her heart, both their worlds were turned upside down with family secrets, hidden agendas and other peoples advances to take what was theirs. We saw an entirely different side to both of them than we did in book one. They were so well developed in this story that I literally couldn’t picked who I wanted Trace to end up with. I was torn, just as these characters were.

Along with an excellent written love triangle, there was mystery, action and just an amazing story to suck you right in and keep you reading. The characters were fun and tragic all at the same time and you knew that no matter how the story ended, someone was going to be left out in the cold that didn’t deserve to be there.

    The Wrap Up:
I loved this book! Even with the crazy, wild ride in book one, I loved it. But this book just stepped up the whole game with wonderful writing, terrific characters and a solid, thrilling story. I can’t wait for book three, Entice (Eagle Elite #3) and see how this family continues after all the reveals in this book.

NOTE: I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review by Forever (Grand Central Publishing) through NetGalley.

Before you read this review you must read Elite to understand the dynamic of this book.

Elect consumed me, I am talking I read this in 1 day, I could not and would not put it down. I had to know what would happen. This story is written in the guys POV Phoenix, Chase's and Nixon's. OMG if you thought Elite was great (5 star read for me), Elect was so much better.

We pick up soon after we were left off in Elite. Tracey has moved into Nixon's house and all of the Elect group s staying there for safety. They are still trying to uncover the answers they need to protect their lives. Nixon and Tracey are in love they are each others soul mates, but their road to happiness is far from complete. Chase is thrown more into the picture when they all have to pretend he and Tracey are a couple in order to protect all of them being in the center of a full on mafia war. All of their lives become a web of deception and turmoil. Chase soon falls in love for Tracey. He knows it is wrong to be head over heel with the girlfriend of the guy who is like a brother to him. Nixon is forced to watch all of this play out and struggles with it because he loves Tracey so much and wants to protect her life. While both guys are admirable an characters you will love, one does the selfless act in order to protect Tracey. We also get more of Phoenix and wow, EXPLOSIVE. The secrets keep flowing out. There was no possible way for me to even figure out what was going to happen, it was one mega surprise after another.

Elect is full of angst and turmoil. There is heartbreak and renewal. Rachel Van Dyken has delivered a STELLAR follow-up. I am in complete awe of Rachel. I may go crazy stalker on her. Her writing is genius. She delivers sexy, witty, stress and swoon. She has definitely earned my 6 star rating, and I have only given a few of these all year. The series is brilliant, and I am on edge to see what happens next with Entice. Elect does not end with a cliffy, but I want to know who and what Entice will be about. I don't think any of our characters stories are finished and that makes me happy, it means we get more Rachel.

Elect picks up where Elite leaves off.  The plot thickens, the romance gets steamier, and things get even more dangerous as the mystery continues to unfold.  There is a love triangle in the book, but this isn't your typical love triangle, so don't let that fact deter you from reading it.  The chemistry between Trace and Nixon is off the charts, and it becomes obvious just how much they love each other.  It also became obvious the depth of Nixon's love for Trace and what he was willing to do and to sacrifice in order to keep her safe, even if it means placing her in the arms of his best friend.  Chase, the best friend, struggles with what is going on, including his loyalty to Nixon and his feelings for Trace, which makes things even more complicated.  Given only a short time to find the answer to a crime committed years earlier, Nixon is forced to hatch a plan that could not only destroy him, but could cause him to lose Trace forever.

I loved Chase, I really did.  He's a great guy, but I really came to love Nixon in this book.  The depth of his love for Tracey was obvious and the fact that he was willing to sacrifice his own happiness for hers, made me love him all the more.  So, that said, I am team Nixon, but I do love Chase and I want him to be happy also.  As the saga continues in Elect, the depth of the conspiracy reaches a whole new level, trusts are broken, friends become enemies and enemies become friends, danger and suspense reach an all-time high, and the depths of love and friendship are tested to the core.   Elect is filled with plenty of passion and romance, as well as betrayal, murder, and mystery, with glimpses into a world of crime that most can only imagine.  Rachel Van Dyken has caused me to totally fall in love with this story and what it involves, a type of story and a world that I never thought I would be interested in, and now I am totally captivated with it.  I absolutely loved Elect and the Eagle Elite Series, and I most definitely recommend it, but I warn you, hold on because you are in for quite a ride.

When I finished reading Elite, the first Eagle Elite book, Rachel Van Dyken left me desperately wanting to pick up the next book in the series. After having become so invested in all of the characters', I NEEDED to know what happened next in their lives. Thankfully Elect picked up right where Elite left off!

If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Elite yet, you should go out and get it NOW! Meet Trace, her roommate Monroe and the members of the Elect: Nixon, Chase, Tex and Phoenix. And then you can delve into the action-packed, heart-wrenching drama that is Elect!

Elect is told through the POV of three male characters: Nixon, Chase and Phoenix. As Elite was told solely from Trace’s POV it was intriguing to see how the males in her life viewed what was now going on. Life as a part of the Mafia Families in the Eagle Elite series is full of secrets, drama, loyalty, betrayal, loyalties tested, romance, love, passion, violence, friendship and a story that will keep you riveted from start to finish!

WOW! I thought Elite kept me on my toes…but, there are no words for what Elect did! It was beyond a rollercoaster ride – it was a rollercoaster stuck in a corn maze at night! My emotions were on the rollercoaster, while I was stuck wandering around the corn maze never knowing what was coming around the next corner and on edge because I never knew what secret might be lurking just ahead or if an assassin might be waiting to jump out at me!

I cannot recommend this book and series highly enough! It had me on the edge of my seat, heart stopped, heartbroken – heart pieced back together, in tears, giggling at some great lines – and now waiting for the next book in the series, Entice! Don’t miss out – make sure you read this one!

Hold on, this one takes you on a roller coaster ride!

It is no secret that I LOVED Elite by Rachel Van Dyken!  Heck, I stand by my word that it is the best book I have read this year!  However, Elect gives Elite a run for its money!  All of my favorite and not so favorite characters are back!  More mafia action, more romance issues, more Chase, Trace and Nixon!!!!  Van Dyken takes the series to a new level of suspense as I was on the edge of my proverbial seat for the majority of the book!  I was shocked, seriously SHOCKED people, at all of the secrets that unfolded during the book!  Heck, I had to re-read certain parts to make sure I was following correctly because it is CRAZY!!! Remember to stay calm because this is the mafia we are dealing with! I have no words for the roller coaster ride of danger and emotional upheaval that I went through!  Tissues, you may need tissues! All that I can say is you will really feel for Chase, Nixon and Trace.  If you haven't read Elite, then go buy it and buy Elect while you are at it, because these books are my favorite books period! Van Dyken has an amazing ability to write a story that feels so true to real life. You will literally feel the emotions from the characters as they jump through the book at you!  If you miss out on this series then you are missing out on an incredible journey! I am now anxiously awaiting book three!  Hurry!!!

Let me start by saying if received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
    Wow! What a great read!
I just don’t even know where to start. OK, if you have read Elite you know the background, and since it is so complex I won’t even try and break it down! After Elite I was pulling for both Nixon and Chase! I just couldn’t make my mind up on who I wanted Trace to be with. I felt they were both good for her and bad at the same time. I just made me nuts!
In this book we see that Trace and Nixon should be together and they seem to be totally happy and in love, but what looms in the background is all of the secrets and family drama that would doom them as a couple so Nixon ‘pushes’ Trace into the arms of Chase. He knows that is the only way it will keep her safe. He’d rather her be alive then them looking over their shoulders and running for the rest of their lives.
There is really nothing to hate about this book! I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the plot keeps you in suspense, but is also a great romance! The Eagle Elite never disappoint and I loved reading from Chase, Nixon and Phoenix’s point of views. I will warn you MAJOR CLIFFHANGER!! I cannot wait to read the next book! This book gets a certified Nerd Alert Book Love A. Add it to your TBR!

The moment I finished Eagle Elite #1, I clicked over to Amazon and ordered this one. I just HAD to know what was going to happen. And then I blew through this novel all too fast and I'm having fast-reader-remorse. I'm kind of ashamed of how quickly I read this one. I can't even TELL you how badly I want to get the third book in this series ... so bad. But alas, it is not to be. I have other books that I've got to get through and then I can come back to this series. Actually, I'll probably just read one book that I need to and then another Eagle Elite. I'll just swap back and forth. I tried telling myself that I would wait until my pile of books was depleted before I would pick up another one of these but I know that my self control with reading is ... well, it's nonexistent.

Anyhow, enough of my babbling. Let's get this show on the road. I'm going to warn you, this review will be filled with my singing the praises of this series, the author and anyone else associated with this whole thing. In case you can't tell, I have a bit of a spoiler for you ... I loved this book.

There were tons and tons of surprises this time, same as with the last book. I was just shocked during the majority of the novel. So many things happened that I just didn't foresee and usually, I can kind of pick up on where a book is going but not with this author. Never with this author. Well, there was one thing that I kind of picked up on but I think that the author wanted you to know what was coming. I was like a deer in headlights ... I knew it was coming and I couldn't enjoy my knowing because I was getting ready to be taken out by a big rig.

Let's see ... the characters are still amazing ... as usual. There isn't any fluff ... everything that you read on each page is really necessary and pertinent to the story. Don't skip over one sentence because it's something that is super important. This is one author that I know I won't skim with. Well ... I want to skim just so that I can see what is going to happen but I'm not skimming because it's boring.

All in all ... great book. You have to read it or at least the first book in the series or I can't talk to you. And we can't be friends. And you'll be dead to me.

The Eagle Elite do not have it easy at all!  I can't imagine being in my 20s and having all that responsibility on my head.  I mean the mafia is no joke!  Of course the men and some of the women are a little trigger happy so maybe that's when they show their age as well as their toughness.

This book.  I thought Elite was crazy good, but this book was better,  The betrayals were bigger, the secrets revealed were humongous and life altering (for the characters), the drama was off the charts and I loved it all!
Even the plot twists were huge.  I didn't see any of them coming...at ALL.  I think I can compare this book to a roller coaster ride. You're really excited to get one and then once it takes off you're high in sky and falling and rising.  You get my point.  I couldn't put this book down.

I was genuinely worried Trace and Nixon might not get their HEA.  It didn't even seem like they got to have a HFN before everything was up in the air again.  Over all, I think Rachel Van Dyken did a fantastic job with this book.  It's a great story and I highly recommend this series.

Holy Hell! I love this series!

I don't know if it's the chemistry of the characters, the secrets and betrayals, or the fact that they are young mafia (which is incredibly attractive, mind you), but this series is amazing! This is the 2nd book in the series so if you haven't read ELITE yet, stop right here and read that first! The love between Nixon and Trace is off the freaking charts. In this one, there are more secrets and more discoveries. Plus, throw in the love of a best friend who wants nothing more than to make Trace his. The emotional roller coaster that Rachel Van Dyken takes you on is phenomenal! Find out if Nixon and Trace get their happily ever after.
