About the Author

Surya Santoso, Ph.D., is a senior power systems engineer at Electrodek Concepts, Inc. His primary interests involve modeling of transients and harmonic phenomena and development of intelligent systems algorithms for power quality data analysis. Santoso is a senior member of the IEEE

Mark F. McGrahaghan is vice president of sales and marketing for Electrodek Concepts, Inc. He has BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Toledo and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. McGrahaghan was vice chairman of the IEEE SCC 22 Power Quality Standards Coordinating Committee and a technical advisor for the IEC SC77A (International Power Quality Standards).

Roger C. Dugan is a senior consultant with Electrodek Concepts, Inc. He has a BSEE degree from Ohio University and an ME degree in electric power engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dugan has nearly 40 years’ experience in electric power quality and distribution system analysis. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his work in harmonics and transients.

H. Wayne Beaty is the former managing editor of Electric Light and Power and editor of McGraw-Hill's Standard Handbook of Electrical Engineering, Thirteenth Edition.
