I really liked this book. It's a great book for those who are just starting out and want to learn how to decorate their homes. It's very detailed and has lots of great photos. I recommend this book highly.
The book is refreshing and inspiring. everything in it including the book itself is asthetically pleasing. you will enjoy the reding and just looking at it on a table or wherever you want to put it:)
Talented and funny. Loved it so much I bought one for a friend's daughter who is starting design classes!
I thoroughly enjoyed her writing. If you have a Nook like mine, though, be aware that the book is in black and white, so her designs lost something in my translation.
Erin Gates' book is packed full of valuable design information and then some. Her style is unique and so glam. She takes a unique approach in presenting the information in a logical, interesting, and complete way, unlike any other design books I have read. Every aspect of a design decision is covered in detail, e.g., what impacts does the choice have on the individual, the overall design, some alternatives, the long term, etc. This will become my design bible and is a perfect gift for friends and family, love it!
The first time you see Elements of Style, you'll have to say it is the definition of a gorgeous book. The pages are thick and rich with color, and the tables for different styles in the various sections help to personalize what the photographs show. The text is a window into how the styles came about. A great book for personal use, but maybe even better as a gift for a hard-to-buy-for friend. A beautiful book on style, for living and for the home.
