    Very Good!

This one grabbed me from the get go. I think it had to do with the main character Kurt Snaber. He's one of those guys you can't help but root for. Then he meets Heidi and she's probably just as interesting. The ending left me wanting more in both a good and bad way. The story is very creepy at times, especially when their alone at his house, but there's some kind of presence. There is a lot of sex in this book, so if your not in to that sort of thing, you may want to skip this one. Sex isn't the main theme, though. Overall, this ones very good and I would recommend it.

    Mysterious, creepy, awesome.

This one is good in so many ways. It's got a big horror component but it reads like a really good mystery. The romance aspect is also very impressive. Joshua Scribner is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.

    Very scary and very cool.

This book was very tense in places, but I found myself realy drawn into the relationship of the two lead characters. Eleven O'clock Fright is a book about a new relationship between a really cool guy and a facinating woman, intermixed with a chilling horror tale. Definately a must read.

Worth a lot more than a buck

Without a doubt the best book I ever paid a dollar for. Kurt Snaber is an amazing character. I love the voices in his head, especially his friend Gerald. This novel hooks fast and doesn't let down.

Great Book from a great author

I read about 3 books a week and recently discovered Joshua Scribner. All of his books are good, but this one really stands out. It's kind of a horror mystery and Kurt Snaber is an incredible character and Scribner really delves into his head. If there's one better it's his new one A Haunting Beauty or maybe Seed.

Met him at a book signing

After buying his book Fear and Repulsion at a book signing at Hastings, and enjoying it, I went back and got this one. Actually, it was an older version from Riverdale Press. If Fear and Repulsion was good, Eleven O'clock Fright was awesome. The story just moves along so fast, but the characters are still these amazing three-dimensional people you really feel like you now. Glad I met him.

    Incredible but a little frustrating

Most of the stuff I read by Scribner draws me in in such a way that it's hard to compare to. His endings are great too. The only problem is I wish his novels were longer. It's like when you fall in love with a sitcom and then get frustrated that it's only 30 minutes. Then only difference is, you usually get a new episode each week. Witj Scribner's work, it's done when it's done and you're left wishing you had another 200 pages to read. This book is really good in a lot of ways. Kurt Snaber is a cool, freaky smart dude, with the social skills of toad. But you're totally drawn into his world and don't want to leave it. I have to give this book a five, becdause I liked it while I read, but please, Scribner, if you're listening, get to work on that tomb.

    A good read

Had some suspense but a little slow in the begining. But good for a free book.

    Its ok

This book took a while to get into. Once in the story it was ok. Could have cut out many pages since it kind of repeated itself over and over. Got creeped out a little (finally). The ending was way too easy and abrupt for such a tedious book. Not sure I would actually recommend. Sorry.

    Unfortunately boring...

I read a short story by Scribner so I thought I'd check this out. Overall, it was an extremely boring story that focused on heavy meditation. Half way through I realized that nothing much was happening but I hoped that the story would pick up. Unfortunately, it never did, and I was upset that I wasted my time reading it. Sorry Scribner!

    Eleven o'clock Fright

This book had a great beggining and interesting characters. The front of the book pulls you in quickly. Immediately it brings you into the mind of a disturbed individual.
The next section of the book deals with the move and a new love. Then the ,"fright". However there is no real fear because it falls short story wise of getting you scared or making your mind stretch into a possibility of fear. The story continues to hold you however on enjoying the characters.

Not a bad read but not a favorite. Too much focus on meditation over and over. The ending twist falls short of a curious gasp you would hope for. I give this a three star rating out of five, not dissappointed that I read it but not excited enough to rave.
