Meet the Author

The author, Gail J. VanWart, grew up in Dedham, Maine at the foot of Peaked Mountain on the farm that’s been in her family since 1868. After traveling the world, raising three sons and acquiring grandchildren, she and her husband returned to the farm and are currently the fourth generation to maintain its native Wild Blueberries which are part of its natural habitat. Besides being a farmer, Gail has a very diverse background in publishing, writing, graphic design, community relations and marketing. Her poetry has been included in many anthologies, she’s served as editor of a local news publication, and her freelance work garnered her the privlidge of interviews with and the opportunity to write reviews about celebrities Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Foghat, B J Thomas and Stephen King, to name a few. Currently, she is devoting some time to publishing her own works and recently published a soft cover collection of poetry, Life Raked In, ISBN 9780984920603. Watch for more titles by this author in the near future.

    Highly recommend this book

    This is a sweet, yet educational book for children. I like the story and the drawings. Ms. VanWart is a gifted artist and writer. Children will enjoy the story and pictures.
