Overview

This story champions self-confidence, and teaches children to cope with their feelings and changing appearance in a positive way. This book can also provide an outlet for adults who are trying to break the news of their own cancer diagnosis and future changes to a child. A pediatric cancer diagnosis usually comes unexpectedly, and with a whirlwind of emotions, to both parent and child; but it is not a situation that cannot be triumphed. While the main character's body may be going through changes, aches, and pains, her spirit is never broken, and that is the true marvel of a child. Helping children maintain a positive and fun-loving attitude while battling a new stage in their life is an imperative part of the recovery process. A portion of the proceeds of this book will be donated to pediatric cancer research funds to aid in the fight against childhood cancers.

THANK YOU for your interest and support.

My wife and I wrote this book after our 8 month-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008. Her courage and tenacity made us want to help more people realize this disease does not cripple the soul, or steal the spirit of a child.

There must be more done to raise awareness and find a cure for pediatric cancer. Every year 3000 kids lose their battle, we want to reduce that number to zero, for this, and future generations. We wrote this book to inspire the thousands of children and families battling cancer - which is why we are donating most of the books proceeds toward pediatric cancer research. This is a worth-while buy, and I hope you all enjoy the book. Thank you for your support. God bless.

    Great book

....I think this book is great because it supports pediatric cancer research. Simple and to the point. Kids are resilient and brave, this books highlights the courage of a little girl facing cancer. She enjoys the collection of hats that she uses to entertain her while in the hospital. By the end of the story she still knows that despite her lack of hair - she's still beautiful inside and out.

Not only does this story speak to those of us touched by cancer, but all of us. Good book for all children of any age.

I LOVED IT... loved the illustrations.

I didn't know a-lot about cancer until my grandmother had it, but I bought this book because I know the author, her great family and her little girl who survived cancer. This is a sweet book, and offers a-lot of inspiration. I think it's great that they are spreading the word about cancer in kids and giving towards the fund to cure cancer. I think more needs to be done to raise awareness, this book is a great start.
