Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Renee Farrah Vess
In book two of "The Music Fairies" series, Rachel and Kirsty stumble upon Ellie the Guitar Fairy and she asks them to help her find her magic guitar. Jack Frost and his goblins have stolen all seven of the magical instruments from Fairyland. The fairy instruments infuse fun and harmony into all other instruments, so without them the music of the world is discordant. Rachel and Kirsty are excited about another magical adventure, and gladly accept to help Ellie track down her guitar. Jack Frost has cast a spell over his helpful goblins to make them appear more human. But their disguises cannot fool Rachel, Kirsty, and Ellie. By playing the ego of a wannabe-rocker goblin that has Ellie's guitar, the girls set up a trap to take back the special guitar and restore one more instrument to Fairyland. Illustrations pepper almost every page, and there is lots of innocent enthusiasm. But the master plan of Jack Frost and his goblins falls flat. Their goal is to win the National Talent Competition with their band, Frosty and his Gobolicious Band, which could expose Fairyland if they are questioned about how they got their talent.
