Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Bradley Torreano
On Ellis Island, the Irish Tenors offer the soundtrack to their PBS special. The performance, which took place in New York City in early 2001, is a smooth and classy effort that complements the incredible talent and power that this group possesses. Although many of these songs may be familiar to listeners, the versions offered here are very good and give the songs the power and clarity they deserve. Especially good are the opening number, "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears," and the sweeping "Love Thee Dearest." Those unfamiliar with this style of music may find this performance to be a good starting point, although this will mostly appeal to fans of the group and/or the genre who know what to expect from the Irish Tenors.

As a Second Generation Irish American - I am very proud to have Irish Music presented is such a way. After listening to this CD I realize what my father tried to explain to me about the soul of Irish music. These three men have the voices of angles and I know no one can listen to Ronan sing "The Green Fields of France" without a tear in their eye.

I bought this CD after hearing the Irish Tenors in concert recently. The concert was wonderful and the CD is thoroughly enjoyable. My favorite songs are "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" and, of course, "Danny Boy." As the granddaughter of an Irish immigrant I could envision my grandfather's journey to America while listening to "Isle of Hope". But both of these songs bring tears to my eyes! I am of the opinion that a male tenor is the most beautiful voice for song and these three men are the best I've heard. This is a great CD to listen to any time, but pop it in the CD player after a stressful day and relax! Or even let these heavenly voices lull you to sleep. It deserves 10 stars!

Anyone who is a fan of the Irish Tenors will love ''Ellis Island''. The sweet voice of Ronan Tynan combined with the more classical voices of Anthony Kearns and Finbar Wright makes for great listening. Although I love all the songs on the album, the first track,''Isle of Hope,Isle of Tears'' is my favorite. I have seen them in concert twice and will be seeing them again this summer. You can play the album repeatedly and never tire of the beautiful music. I give it an A+!

Played the CD for the 1st time the other day, and listen to the entire show that night on PTV. Good combination. When I first heard the CD, the last number was GOD BLESS AMERICA. At the time I didn't realize that song was on a CD of Irish music, but it was certainly classic way for them to end the show.
