Elmo explains to very young kids that there are different kids of love. You can love your parents and members of your extended family. You can love your pets and special thing that you like to eat or do. You can even love a special day. Elmo demonstrates by introducing his friends such as Dorothy who loves her fish family and Cookie Monster who loves cookies. Elmos loves his birthday and those of others because he can tell them how much he cares about them, but most of all Elmo tells kids that he loves them. The familiar characters from Sesame Street will be quickly recognized and the message imparted absorbed by receptive toddlers. Part of the fun is to lift up the drawing that look like kids created them to have the message further reinforced with a picture and additional text. 2004, Random House, Ages 1 to 3.

    Elmo's World

    My 21 month old daughter loves this book (and anything Elmo). We've read it at least a thousand times by now. She also carries it around with her.

    A really clever and fun Elmo book!

    This is the cutest of the Elmo's books we have so far. It teaches about weather according to season. The concepts were very simple and my 3 year old was able to grasp most of them. After reading it a few times, she could answer the questions Elmo asks on her own. The book also touches on what clothes you wear for different weather. It teaches a lot! She delighted every time we'd pull the 'magic' tab to see the picture in the window change. More happens than what you'd expect. On one page, Bert's skin color even changes to show he has a sunburn because he forgot to wear sunscreen. It's really a very clever book!
