On the heels of 2002's enormous hit "Wasting My Time," Default took another shot at platinum by releasing Elocation. "Who Followed Who?" finds the group nicking the powerful drive of the Bangles' "Hazy Shade of Winter" and gluing it to a Nickelback tune. Speaking of the latter, Chad Kroeger helped put Default on the map and naturally is back to help out, co-penning "Throw It All Away," which aside from its title is a track worth salvaging. Lead singer Dallas Smith sounds like a mixture of the aforementioned Kroeger, the Offspring's Dexter Holland, and Creed's Scott Stapp. Sure, the band plays as astutely as, um, Creed or Nickelback under the watchful eye of producers Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Rhythm Corps), Butch Walker (Sevendust, SR-71), and Kroeger. Although Default's bastardized cover of the Jeff Buckley classic "Cruel" is brave, the simple devotional "Without You" is the most memorable tune on Elocation.

Elocation is a great follow up to Default's first album, The Fallout. It a great cd! If anyone you know liked the first one.. they MUST HAVE this one as well. Their talent shines through on this album.

After their first album became one of my favorites, I expected to be disappointed with this one. To say the least, I’m not. For the first time in a long while, I haven’t skipped a single song. Definitely worth the money.

It's the basic Rock and Roll album that I love..nothing new added but the vocals from Dallas Smith are amazing.. From the more mellow songs "All She Wrote" and "Made a Lie" to the heavier songs of " Who Followed Who" to "Cruel"(a Jeff Buckley cover)Dallas has a impressive vocal range.. The band has matured overall and I like the outcome The acoustic version of "Let you down" is a nice bonus to the cd..

Default is one of the best bands out there, with Dallas's voice, it puts them far ahead of other bands like them. the music sounds great, and you can't help but sing along with the lyrics. the CD makes it difficult to turn off the stereo, it's that great.

This is one of the best albums to come out in a while. Dallas Smith has one of the most amazing voices and such great talent. This CD is close to surpassing the greatness CD "The Fallout" however I dont think any CD can. They are both amazing CD's by one of the greatest groups out today! I would recommend this CD adn "The Fallout" to ANYONE! They are a lyricly great band as well. The song "All She Wrote" is an amazing song and it makes me cry everytime I hear it....Its so GOOD! If your having second thoughts about buying the album, dont...U will not be sorry U did this!

If you liked the Fallout, you'll love Elocation! The fast paced songs are quick to catch your ears and make you want to listen to them over and over again. The slower songs took me some time to get used to, but now I absolutely love them all. Highly recommended for music lovers out there!

Just when we were getting ready for the start of December, Default comes out with a new cd to make everything go crazy. The new cd called "Elocation" delivers exactly what its name stands for. When you listen to it you depart from the usual state, an ecstasy. Hearing the loud bass of Dave Benedict sounds to the rocking voice of Dallas Smith, every second makes your heart beat faster. Danny Craig delivers serious beats to the wild styles of Jeremy Hora. A must have cd for those into any type of music. Default makes sure everyone can enjoy their cd and they proved it.

I bought Default's first album, The Fallout, when I was 12, and loved. Now I'm 15, and even though my tastes have changed a lot, I still do. So, when I heard Default was releasing a new album, I was extremely excited. I couldn't wait to buy it. I picked it up the day it came out, and I was not dissapointed. This is a quality album. I have been listening to it non-stop ever since, and it is fast becoming a favoirte. There is not a song on this album I don't like, although Break Down Doors would probably be my favorite. The acoustic version of Let You Down was an added bonus. It's absolutley beautiful. I urge any of you who like any Default music you've heard to buy this album, and trust me, you won't be dissapointed.
