On a very cold, very snowy winter day, Nanny decides to take Eloise and Weenie ice-skating! But can dogs ice-skate?
Children's Literature - Marilyn CourtotEloise, that privileged six-year old who lives at the Plaza with her Nanny, is going to go ice skating. Those familiar with New York will enjoy seeing her stroll down the streets with the holiday decorations and end up at the skating rink at Rockefeller Center. Eloise, always the fashion maven, has skates that match her bow and a lovely fur jacket to keep her warm; however, it turns out that she is a real terror on skates, narrowly missing other skaters and performing a bit of a ballet on ice. She tries a jump and it is her good fortune to be caught by a policeman rather than making a hard landing on the ice. Nanny has had enough and suggests that it is time for hot chocolate. The irrepressible Eloise has found a way to make the boring days of winter awfully fun. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
