My 14-year old daughter really enjoyed the details of this book. She is a huge Elvis fan (we are going to Gracelend for the first time this summer.) It made a great Christmas present. I know it was published almost 30 years ago but it had many relevant facts about her childhood and her life before as well as after her relationship with Elvis.

This is one of the most moving memoirs I have ever read. Everybody knows the story of Elvis Presley - the lasting fame, the fans, the glory, and the untimely death. Priscilla Presley (as Elvis' one and only wife) gives readers an inside look at the man who gave the music world so much more than just the legend. Filled with humility, grace, and love, it stands as a great tribute to her husband, and can give comfort to their daughter and grandchildren all these years later.

Picking up this book i didn't realize how much it would touch me. I've never been an avid reader but I've always had somewhat of a fascination with Elvis. Growing up my grandma would always talk about him and how much she loved him as an entertainer and always reminded me that me and the king share the same birthday. One day i had an epiphany that i may enjoy reading biographies of stars I've always admired. During my search i came across Elvis and Me, and when i seen Priscilla Beaulieu Presley was the author i thought it would be interesting to see Elvis through her perspective. I always wondered about Priscilla as a person i always thought she was beautiful. As i read i became more engulfed in the book, i related to her and felt her aches and pains and even found myself becoming furious when i read about some of the ways Elvis treated her, but near the end when i read about his death i became overcome with sadness and sobbed for not only him but all of the people who loved and shared his life. This book made me see Elvis in a different light, and it reminds you that we are all just people, not good or bad but loving, and we all want to be loved. I'm sure that now whenever i hear an Elvis song it will have much more meaning to me. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read or wants to know more about the woman behind the King.

Thirty five years after Elvis Presley's death, I felt it was time to re-visit this little gem of a book. It is quite clear Priscilla loved hom deeply. Here you see the Elvis behind the legend and all the flaws that made him so very human. This is a must read without all of the hype.

After reading the book from the three bodyguards and reading this one by his wife, you can be sure there both true and correct because thay conferm each other and i doubt they meant to do that. With the exception of his wifes being more about there love&personel time. A very good book

Two summers ago, I saw Priscilla on the Today show, I think it was, and she had this book with her. It was bright pink and in hardback though. I cant find that book anywhere. I thought it was brand new so thats how I found this book..

I love the book, I actually started to care more about Priscilla as I read on. Elvis put her through so much, even though she was the only one he ever REALLY loved. I mean, I admire Elvis no matter what, but, the book lets you see a side of him that the world never saw. It let us see that nothing is picture perfect and I think it is a must for any fan. Priscilla is wonderful for sharing her experiences with us.

I first read this book when it came out in 1986. I recently reread it and loved it as much the second time as when I read it for the first time. It allows us to see a little bit into the lfe, generosity and love that was the man, Elvis Presley. It tells us about Elvis as a man not just a star. The book tells about his love for family and friends and of course his love for Priscilla. And his daughter Lisa Marie. It shows a sensitive, caring, scared, insecure side to Elvis that the public saw very little of, if any.

You have to respect Priscilla's honesty and heart that goes into this book. These are stories and memories on how she remembers her life with Elvis. It gives you a great perspective on how Elvis was and their love for each other. This was the first book that got me so interested in Elvis. I could not put this book down. I feel it could have been longer and included a little bit more information, but you do have to respect her for the information she does give to his fans about her life with Elvis.

I think that it is a great book, I have read it several times, I have a copy here at home, and everytime I read it it is as good as the first time. Pricillia Really lets you know how day to day life with Elvis was, it is a true romance. Yes they had thier ups and downs but you can tell in her book, that she loved him, and he loved her every bit as much as she loved him.

Priscilla Beaulieu Presley begins this book by telling what she did on the day that Elvis Presley died. Is this the right way to begin Elvis and Me? Then she goes back to 1956 when Elvis Presley was still alive. She lived in the United States until her step-father gets sent to Germany. Her real father was an airline pilot on leave returning home to see 6 month old Priscilla when he gets killed in an airplane crash. She learns the truth about her step-father after she sees a photo with her mother with her real father. She learns that Elvis Presley will be in Germany also. She mets Currie Grant (the person who introuced her to Elvis Presley). They spend time together until Elvis Presley gets dispatch from Germany and back to Graceland. A couple of years later she reunites with Elvis Presley. This book has 40 chapters. I'm giving this book 4 stars because of the 40 chapters, if this book was shorter, I might have given it 5 stars.
