For nineteen-year-old Ember, life has always been about death. With a simple touch, she can see when someone will die. It’s her curse and the reason she secludes herself from the world. The only person that knows her secret is her best friend Raven.

But that changes when she meets Asher Morgan. He’s gorgeous and mysterious and is the only person Ember can't sense death from. The silence he instills in her mind and body allows her to feel things she’s never been able to before, so despite her initial reservations, Ember lets Asher into her life and lets herself to get close to him. Love jessica's books

Loved the idea and the story. Wish it was longer and dragged out, felt a bit rushed. But it was great for only .99. I am now waiting for 5 books of hers to come out! I highly recommend Shattered Promises, its the adult version of the Fallen Star series, which I haven't read because I loved Shattered Promises's hot sexy scenes too much.

    Okay

This book has a great and unique plot, something not very common in other paranormal romance novels with angels. The big problem with this book is that it was all over the place, some parts jumped around and it became difficult to follow. The characters would be talking about reapers and angels and at times it left you guessing what things meant without fully explaining them or returning later in the story to explain that concept. I found this same problem detering in other books she has written. The book has everything you want in a book but it's still missing that something that makes you love it. It has the posibility of being salvaged in the second book but unfortunately I won't be returning.

I don't know if this is a theme in her other books, but between this one and the Fallen Star series, I've found that Sorensen matches her heroines up with a male lead right off the bat without room for growth. Yeah, it's great that Asher is pierced and tattooed and Ember can touch him, but what about Cameron? She makes it feel like there's a connection to the other male lead and you actually really hope that perhaps he's the one for her, that it's not all laid out nice and neat for you. But it's like she stops herself from that possibility and locks in just the original guy. This happens in the Fallen Star series with Laylen as well (he was so much better than Alex!).

Personally I like it when the male love interest isn't picked right away. Give the character some struggle and room to grow and realize that just because one may seem "perfect" right away, doesn't mean the other may not be a much better match. It just seems to me that Cameron has a lot of mystery behind him that Ember isn't exploring - the loneliness and misery that Sorensen writes is always behind his eyes. Doesn't he deserve a little love too? Especially with someone who can understand and relate to him so well?

I hope that in her next books she doesn't keep it locked down like this and explores Cameron and Ember a bit more in depth. Give me a reason to prefer Asher over him if you're going to pigeon hole her with him, because right now I'm not seeing it. Cameron seems to be the one who actually needs her love and would benefit from it. Heck, maybe I just have a soft spot for the "bad guys".

    Like this author but....

It's really hard to get past the grammatical and spelling errors! Enunciate was spelled 'annunciate' at one point. Is there no editor for this author? Maybe a self publish? Whatever the case, interesting concepts, just too full of mistakes.

    Love this paranormal story!

Loved this book. Loved the story between Ember and the two competing interests - Asher and Cameron. Also loved her friendship with Raven... opposites attract. Just wish it was longer and can't wait for book two. Love Jessica Sorenson's writing.

    Difference

This book showed a confuing and sycologically different type of story. It both confused and kept me entertained. I couldn't put the book down once I started it. Even though it was confusing, I still found a way to get the book to work with my mind and it actually did. After the fisrt five chapters I was head in the book and started to understand everything. So if your deciding to read this book, then definently go for it,it keot me busy and it should keep you.
