Overview

After Lady Rebecca Jamison, a mathematical genius, saves her family from financial ruin by secretly investing in railway stocks on the London stock exchange, a greedy syndicate, desperate for Becca’s calculations and predictions, murders her friend and threatens the Jamison family, forcing Becca to beg assistance from her childhood friend, Cayle St. Martin.
The newly titled Duke of Sherwyn has returned to London after five years on the continent extending his family’s shipping interests. He’s shunned his privileged London life and his father’s unbending attitudes, and becomes committed to employing the spying tactics he learned on the continent to help Becca indict the syndicate—and using his skills as a lover to seduce her into his bed.
But how will Cayle be able to convince Becca, a determinedly self-sufficient spinster, that he can be more to her than just a protector?

Meet the Author

I now live in a sunny part of Australia after spending many years in developing countries in the South Pacific. My greatest loves are traveling, anywhere and everywhere, meeting crazy characters, and visiting the Australian outback.

I adore history, especially the many-layered society of the late Regency to early Victorian eras. In and around London, my titled heroes and heroines may live a privileged and gay life but I also love digging deeper into the grittier and seamier levels of British life and write about the heroes and heroines who challenge traditional manners, morals, and occupations, either through necessity or desire.

Incredible dresses, spunky women and sizzling romance.I enjoy reading about a feisty heroine, and placing her in historical romance makes her even more a delightful anomaly. Becca is intelligent, business savvy and in no need of any traditional man who treats her like property. The newly dubbed Duke of Sherwyn isn’t any man. He’s a past childhood crush, a spy and is determined to keep Becca close … both because he can’t resist her and because he has vowed to protect her. Becca’s not the only smart, business-minded woman in her family. There are several of them and the men of her time are ready to put them in their place, even if it means their graves.
This dance of sultry attraction and suspense twined between scenes of ballroom dances, lavish gowns, swords and hidden guns. If you enjoy historical romance, a suspenseful tale or a saucy trip the past, Embracing Scandal is a book for you.

In Embracing Scandal, Rebecca Jamison is being threatened. She knows that she needs help before she ends up loosing her life, so she decides to turn to Cayle St. Martin, the man who broke her heart.

Cayle St. Martin is in London settling as the new Duke of Sherwyn, only to have the peace disrupted by his childhood friend Rebecca, who is seeking his help to find the murderer of her friend before she becomes the next victim.

Cayle will try to do everything possible to keep Becca safe and out of trouble, but with her slightly wild and impulsive ways she will not make things easy for him. And so he decides to play a game of seduction, in which he will try to win Becca into his bed.

Cayle and Becca will have to find the murderer before she becomes the next victim and they loose what they only now realized could be their chance at true love.

The characters in this book will wrap you up from the beginning and keep you hooked till the very end. They are very believable and strong hero and heroine that will make you fall in love. Cayle is the classic rake, but like most rakes, once he falls in love he will not stop until he has his girl with him forever. Becca is a strong character that will have you admiring her for her traits. She is the pillar that holds her family together and she will not fall under strain, she is smart, strong, outspoken and slightly wild, but that is something that will make you wish you could be living her adventures.

If you like a good historical romance that will hook you and does not let go until the last page, Embracing Scandal by Suzi Love is the one for you.

This is the first book I have read of Suzie Love. Ms. Love can write!! She has written the most daring and charming sisters. The Jamison's family is so different from any other family of their time. They pool of their talents and resources to help themselves make money. They also help women of all classes, Ladies and prostitutes alike, to make money, too. Rebecca, Becca, is the leader of this clan of troublemakers who have do-gooder hearts. She has a great mind with mathematics that helps all she loves make money. Becca was hurt by one man that she thought loved her. That man is back and she asks for his help. Cayle is that man but he has been banished to the continent for 4 years. He was forced to leave after his SUPER EVIL step-mother told his dad that he seduced a young woman. That young woman, who tried to trap Cayle into marriage, is Becca's EVIL cousin. Cayle used his time away in the spy field and he has resources that will help the Jamison's family. But all he wants is Becca in is arms and his life forever. Take two stubborn people who clash in words or passion every time their are in the same room. Then add two quirky families, a crazy aunt, espionage, Evil step-mother and runaway carriage, mix them up and get this great book. I give this book 4 fingers up and 9 toes. I just wish I could of read more about the evil step-mom and evil cousin in the story. I can't wait to read Laura's story next!! I am a Suzie Love fan now!!
