Overview

~~ Book #6 in the Wizard of Oz series.

~~ includes all the original illustrations (over 100) by John R. Neill, and a new Preface by Oz expert and Eltanin Editor Joseph Nusbaum.

~~ From the Preface:
L. Frank Baum pulled out all the stops for his sixth and, what he believed was to be the final, Oz book, The Emerald City of Oz. In this book, it seems Baum brought in all his longed for elements, including the title, which was the working title for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz but was rejected by the publisher because of a superstition cursing novels named after gemstones. Baum also elevates this Oz book beyond the constructs of a direct and simple narrative; for the first time, he constructs two parallel storylines that follow the protagonists (Dorothy, the Wizard and a host of favorite traveling companions) as well as the Nome King and his brood of antagonists on two separate journeys where both parties encounter a range of mystifying populations.

The Emerald City of Oz is the 6th book in the Oz series. We (Eltanin Publishing) have also published:

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (the 1st book in the series)
The Marvelous Land of Oz (the 2nd book in the series)
Ozma of Oz (the 3rd book in the series)
Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz (the 4th book in the series)
The Road to Oz (the 5th book in the series)
The Patchwork Girl of Oz (the 6th book in the series)

    Read This One!~!~!~!

The Emerald City of Oz is the most exciting book ever!It is based on the classic The Wizard of oz.This book is the perfect book for young readers.Dorothy and her aunt and uncle move to Ozbut the Nome King wants his magic belt back that Dorothy and Ozma stole so he plans an attack against the people of Oz.It may be challenging for readers 4th grade or under.Above average students will most likely know or guess what will happen next.I think that The Emerald City of Oz is a stupendous book because they go on adventures and meet so many different kinds of creatures and things. For example when Dorothy and her friends meet all the people of Oz made of food or puzzle pieces or even paper! If you want an intresting fantasy to read this one is the one!It will take your breath away!~!~!~!
