    The Emerald Tablet is truly a treasure!

    When I bought the book, I wasn't actually looking to learn about alchemy on an in-depth level. I just thought the book looked interesting and would be informative. But not only does it live up to its promise to be informative, the author takes you on a fascinating journey by weaving his own personal experiences into the history of alchemy and leads you through a modern-day puzzle complete with ways you, the reader, can apply alchemy in a personal way. My husband and I experienced this book together. Over coffee each morning, I would read a chapter aloud. It never failed to spark stimulating conversation, and we both consider it a transformational book. I would describe myself a novice on the subject, and even though the book deals with a complicated subject, it is so well written I never lost interest or felt the book was over my head. Rather, I remained intrigued to the end. I highly recommend it!

    Alchemy as New Age Approach to Life

    The first half of Dennis William Hauck's work is elucidating, well-researched, and definitive. I highly recommend it. The latter half, where transformative work is to take place, bogs down in New Age theory. Specifically, Hauck describes breathing techniques and New Age concepts as the keys to personal transformation, concepts that have been around for a very long time. Some will find this material fresh, useful, and engaging, though, so if meditative breathing techniques are of interest to you, then the latter half of the volume is sure to engage.
