Mark Brown’s Emergency!, is a novel full of cringing and blood curdling stories of the unspeakable things that happen in the ER. From watching a little girl dying in their arms to an old man being punctured and paralyzed, these stories will make one sick! Most of these stories focus on the night shift, since that is when the “most interesting” patients arrive. Too many times they emphasize the difference in doctor’s persona between the beginning of the night shift and the time the sun rises. They always seem sad and depressed. They work these types of jobs everyday with barely any time off, and are expected to perform their best every time, because if they fail, the patient will die. Besides the stress that they go through, the expectations are so high for even for the first year medical student. They all have to work perfectly together because there is so much at stake. If one is off, then there is a chance at a unnecessary death. Keeping composure is a huge thing depicted in this book. During the disgusting stories, the nurses kept up their composure and didn't flip out on the patient.

I have this book signed by Dr Mark Brown who I have had the honor to work with in our emergency room . This is a compendium of the way it really is in a busy ER. It will make you laugh until you cry and then cry like your heart will break into a hundred pieces, It is a tribute the care and dedication of the doctors and nurses and therapists and all the staff in all the hospitals serving the communities all over the USA. It s a must read! I only wish it was now available in e book form .
