Children's LiteratureHow nice to see a young female (rabbit) spending the day with her Dad. They head for the park and Dad rents a rowboat. Emily has fun feeding the ducks some of her popcorn. Next they head off to watch a baseball game and then have a picnic. Each scene, which fills a spread, has one or more large flaps to lift and they show the next logical action. At the ball game Emily cheers for a home run, Once they have decided to picnic, the flaps reveals Emily and her Dad on a blanket enjoying their lunch. There are other scenes and plenty to look at and talk about. It ends with Dad bringing home a pizza and Emily sharing her outing adventures with Mom and little brother Leo. Emily and her Dad really did have a special day. 2003, Puffin, Ages 2 to 6.
