Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Widow Helen Evett already has a plateful of problemsshe has her Salem, Mass., preschool to run, two rebellious teenagers and a dotty aunt to look afterso she certainly doesn't need a ghost in her life. The ghostas far as Helen can surmiseis Linda, the recently deceased wife of Nat Brynes and mother of adorable three-year-old Katie. After Linda's apparition gets Helen's attention, with the help of vicious headaches, noises in the night and the overpowering scent of perfume, it sends two cryptic messages: Find out why Linda died; keep Katie safe. But safe from what, or who? Certainly not Nat, Katie's devoted, loving father, with whom Helen is falling in love. Full of charm and wit, Stockenberg's latest paranormal romance (following Time After Time) is truly enthralling.(Aug.)
Library Journal
Practical, widowed Helen Evett is concerned about two thingsraising her two teenage children and running her highly sought-after preschool. She is the last person who would ever have put much stock in the supernatural. A pair of well-matched protagonists, a precocious three-year-old, a relentless ghost, and a conniving nanny combine to produce an engrossing, well-written story that should keep readers captivated to the end. Stockenberg, a popular writer of paranormals (Time After Time, Dell, 1995), won a Rita for Emily's Ghost (Dell, 1992). She lives in Newport, Rhode Island.
Romantic Times

Jayne Castle
"EMILY'S GHOST is great fun. A witty, entertaining romantic read that has everything -- a lively ghost, an old murder mystery and a charming romance. Antoinette Stockenberg is a fresh, engaging voice in romantic fiction."
Jude Deveraux
"I loved EMILY'S GHOST. It's an exciting story with a surprise plot twist."
Sun-Sentinel - Fort Lauderdale
"Stockenberg has fun with a 19th century man confronting 20th century ideas of love, sex and politics by watching Oprah."
Bookstore - Daphne's Dream
"Antoinette Stockenberg is the writer who has made me reconsider 'ghost' romances. Every one that I have read of hers has been compelling and realistic enough that I had no problem suspending my own disbelief in ghosts. Read it; you'll love it!"

LOVED IT!!! Ms. Stockenberg writes in a way that grabs you at the first word and doesn't let you go until the last word. Hate to see each book end, but then can't wait to start the next one. PLEASE, keep them coming.

    So Enjoyable!

I needed something light and witty and 'Emily's Ghost' fit the bill. Emily doesn't believe in ghosts. But her romance with a charming Senator is almost nipped in the bud when she gets involved with Fergus O'Malley--a ghost who has some serious issues to resolve before he can 'move on.' As in great old movies like 'Topper' and 'Hold That Ghost,' the skeptical, level headed Emily finds herself in situations she never could have imagined. Can she clear Fergus? Can she protect the Senator? Will she ever learn to just relax and accept happiness? Sit back and enjoy!

    Easy read

I enjoyed this book very much-although some of it was quite far-fetched. The writing style was pleasant and easy reading. I like the little bit of the supernatural mixed with the mystery. I have since read a couple of the author's books and have enjoyed them for relaxing, unstressed reading.

    light-hearted read

I loved this book and intend to learn more about this author. it had the right turns and twists to keep one interested. I read at lest 50 books this year and this is one of my favorites. it had a surprising ending and I won't tell you because then it would ruin it for everyone.

I read this on my Nook - this was the first time I've read this author. I did like the story and the concept. I'd probably get another book of hers. I will say I was just a little disappointed in the ending and how she dealt with the Ghost but all in all a good story.
