Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
Emily Post's daughter and her sister-in-law explain sharing and caring by examples. Children share toys, time and food. Taking turns on swings is a form of sharing. Caring is explained as thinking about others and what you can do to make them feel good. Caring is shown by giving a Band-Aid when someone is hurt, giving flowers to make someone feel special or picking up toys. Giving smiles to others also makes you smile and everyone is made happy. A note to parents explains that producing smiles in others is a concrete result of good behavior. Parents are encouraged to use "patience, repetition, and good modeling" to achieve desired results in their children. The illustrations of pastel children appear on white pages, some of which are bordered by colored blocks. Hopefully children will learn to live these basic lessons in getting along. This book may be helpful to parents and preschool teachers. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman

    good for older toddlers/young kids

This is a cute book to teach about sharing and caring but a bit old for my 2 year old...better probably for kids age 4 and older.
