Meet the Author

Christine M. Conroy has always been interested in the art of writing and the study of languages. During her undergraduate years at Boston College, she was a foreign language major. After graduating, she taught both English and French for a time and then worked for six years in her hometown library, where she enjoyed meeting the patrons and was intrigued by the vast array of books. Later, after graduating from Bentley College, she worked as a self-employed accountant for quite a few years. Maintaining financial books and analyzing figures was a rewarding challenge, but her desire to write grew stronger and stronger as time went by. She now intends to focus on being a writer of books rather than a keeper of books.
Although the author would like to believe that writing is her forte, she certainly knows that drawing is not. Christine feels very fortunate that she did not have to look too far to find the right artist to illustrate Emma's Memoirs. Her brother, Robert S. Conroy, is a cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic artist. Robert studied art at The Art Institute of Boston. His work has appeared in various newspapers and magazines throughout the United States.
