The album's title track is laced with beautiful strings that echo the emotion of Thomas's imploring words "what's a man to do when his heart can take no more?" and the synth-heavy "You Ain't Right" floats atop mid-tempo grooves that bob and weave like a feather-weight boxer. Although Thomas's music may be more familiar than his name, you can expect that to change...really soon.

Carl Thomas' aptly named debut album, Emotional, delivers smooth, romantic R&B ballads like the title track, "My Valentine," "Come to Me," "Special Lady," and "Summer Rain." Although somewhat lacking in distinction, the set features competent singing, songwriting, and production (care of Puff Daddy), and Thomas' voice is impressive.

    Carl Thomas is the HOTTEST male artist PERIOD

    Emotional is the all time hands down best alblum in the world. You fall in love with each perfectly written song and melody. Each song tells a story that you can feel and want to groove to. I'm his BIGGEST fan ever and thinks that he doesn't get the props that he deserves. Please listen to the cd, you're in for a delightful treat

    The Best New Artists

    Emotional is my album of the year. It surpassed being average. There's no song on this album that I didn't fall in love with. Every breathe he took sent my soul onto another level. This album truly demonstrates perfection.

    I'm Emotional About Carl

    This is one of the finest pieces of music I've heard in a long time. Filled with heartfelt songs about love lost, love refound and relationships between men and women in general, Emotional is a chart topper. Carl Thomas has done it with this album. Songs such as ''You Ain't Right,'' ''Woke Up In The Morning,'' and ''Cold, Cold World'' get you bopping and songs like ''Hey Now,'' ''Lady Lay Your Body,'' and ''Giving You All My Love'' with Kelly Price keep you moving and help make the mood. ''Summer Rain'' is definitely a song to blast when it comes on the radio station. If you don't have this album by now, you should get it immediately.

    The Best CD I've purchased since Maxwell!!!

    This is by far, the best R&B CD out there. I had to put Donell Jones and D'Angelo on the shelf. I've listened to this CD every day for a week. It's a MUST HAVE for any R&B fan. Best thing to come out of Bad Boy since Biggie...and get this, Puffy is NOT on this CD!!! :) I'm no Puffy hater, but it's good to see him taking a back seat sometimes!

    A Must Have!

    If you love traditional R&B then you need to add this one to your collection. Carl Thomas really put his all into this entire CD. He will deffiently not be a one album artist and I look for more exciting things to come from this artist.

    PERFECTION!!!!!

    I just bought this CD, and I can't stop listening to it. Carl Thomas cruises through the tracks like an old R&B pro. I would recommend this CD to anyone who loves the smooth sounds of Classic R&B.
