Emotionsby Mariah Carey
A strong follow-up to Mariah Carey's self-titled debut album, Emotions puts to rest any concern of a "sophomore slump." The same mix of dance/R&B/ballads that gave Carey's debut such tremendous auditory appeal can be found with equal strength on this release, indicating that placing firm belief in the notion of "Why fool with success?" may, in fact, have its merits. Most notably, the gospel influences of "If It's Over" (with music co-written by Carole King), the yearning cries for a lost love in "Can't Let Go," and the catchy, upbeat title track all serve to send the listener on a musical journey filled with varying emotions. However, the one emotion that prevails upon completion of the album is definitely a positive one: satisfaction.

This album is very good and very similar as her debut Mariah´s 7 octaves shines through every tone here she can do anything with that big voice of hers and this album is like the name very Emotional. My favorit songs on this 10 track album are. 1.Emotions 4.08 1# Mariah´s 5 no 1# single, very powerful popsong and sounds like Someday. 2.And You Don´t Remember 4.25 a midtempo ballad very nice. 3.Can´t Let Go 4.27 This song is my favorit on the album should have been number 1# but it wen´t to no 5# on the charts. 4.Make It Happen 5.07 a gospel-popsong it´s great Mariah sings on high notes here. 5.If It´s Over 4.37 this song is sort of rock song with heavyvocals from Mariah. 6.You´re So cold 5.04 a strange popsong don´t get the lyrics here is she singin about Tommy Mottola or someone else who is like the devil in disquise. 7.So Blessed 4.12 very beautiful song a midtempo ballad. 8.To Be Around You 4.18 another great popsong. 9.Till The End Of Time 5.35 a beautiful ballad a b-side of song I love the lyrics. 10. The Wind 4.41 a pure gospel song with some big notes. On This album Mariah sings very much of God and about believe.
This album is pure pop with blends of Ballads and Gospel Mariah sounds amazingly good her voice is powerful and my all time fave songs on this album are as Can´t Let Go,Emotions,Make it Happen,So Blessed,To Be Around You,And Till The Of Time.Mariah works with Walter Afanasieff on 7 songs and with David Late Cole&Robert Clivillés.I Love this album i recommend it to all Mariah fans and nonfans.
Mariah´s second studio album Is amazing it was released in september 19th 1991 and has her 5th no#1 single Emotions one of my favorit Mariah songs. Mariah has a 6-7 octave voice and she can hit the Eb6 note one of the biggest notes in the world. Mariah is my favorit singer with Celine dion. Mariah teams up with Walter Afanasieff and David Cole&Robert Clivillés on This album and it´s pure pop with heavy loaded ballads like Can´t Let Go and Till The End Of Time gospel in If It´s Over and The Wind where she reaches the high#F note. Mariah´s new album The Emancipation Of Mimi is a wonderful album but not her best but it´s pretty good.
this is one of my favorite mariah albums, definitely one of her most soulful, too bad it gets lost in her extensive catalog. Also by the way Mariah actually hits an E7 twice as she scales up during the end of the song "Emotions". Pretty neat stuff!
