Holy Goddess Sarah J. Maas literally left me on the edge of my seat gaping in wonder at the tale she has created and her absolute brilliance at the way she weaves it. I was waiting in anticipation at the turn of every page and the only disappointment I have is that I have to wait for the next one! She is just spectacular with the plot twists and revelations of this book. This is one of those stories that will always be playing in my mind and I will always be enthralled. Long live Queen Aelin Ashryver Galathynius!!!

Maas has done it once more. She raised my fragile heart, fueling it with fire and love for her characters, her spectacular plot, and her world building so that it burned as brightly as Aelin of the Wildfire. She tested it's strength with the trials of heartache, the battering ram of hope for these beautiful characters. And then she shattered it so thoroughly that I am left yearning for more. Only a few embers are remaining, waiting for the next installment to once again fan it to an inferno. I love her writing style, the way she weaves the characters to life, to become more than just words on the pages. Aelin has grown so much from her first novel, as has Maas' writing. The weight that she carries on her shoulders, the weight of the world, has molded her into a true Queen (albeit a sassy and terrifying one). Rowan, precious Rowan. I wish that I would come across an equal such as you in my lifetime. I was really happy when I encountered that Elide would be a major player, as well as her counterpart, likely and perfectly he is for her. I absolutely loved that Dorian has matured into a character more than fluff. How he is shaping the story, and how he shows his strength. Manon of course is a beautiful character, and we can see how she develops far more in this novel (we were given just the teasings of it in the last). Truly, I could spend days talking about her characters, and how immensely proud I am of how they have shown depth, growth, and realism. Each has played a vital role in forming the plot, which I do have to say was so brilliantly weaved I have to wonder if Maas is secretly Aelin in real life (in her little heart-stopping reveals). My heart is in emotional turmoil from now until the story continues. Bravo, bravo, you have done it again, Maas. Thank you

I am once again sucked completely in to a series in which the author not only refines and perfects her writing as the books continue, but also the characters evolve and change. I need more!

I am in love with this series! The people of Earth are not ready for this intense of a plot. Our brains are not able to comprehend what exactly is going on. Yet, through the twists and turns and threads of this taperstry, it is the seamstress whom gets the gold. She knew exactly what level she wanted Aelin at all along. This book shows what Aelin can do, both with her supreme magic and her cunning skills. I remember first reading this series and falling in love with Celaena's determination, manipulation, and kind heart. I love Elentiya, who fought untill she had nothing left to give, then gave more. Yet, they were called childen then and they are compared to the Wildfire we see before us now. The fact that all of them changed so much... it's like looking back on their childhood from ten years back, but only three years ago. I love how she never forgot Sam; being caught up in this whirlwind can make you forget things of the past, but Aelin doesn't forget her feelings. I love how she never forgot her love of music and is just as enraptured by it as she was at the start. I congradulate Maas on creating such a perfect character with such a perfect plot. After all, all of them look in awe to Aelin at how she puts the pieces together, but greater is she who made the entire puzzle. It is my goal as a novice writer to be as passionate, engaged, and rivoting as an author as Maas is. It is my personal challenge to one day surpass her, though I see very slim chance of anyone topping this in the next four hundred years. I can't help but wonder what would happen if Maas herself wanted to take over the world... though then again, I am quite certain that she is already the master of many reader's worlds.

I second this!! No Allegiant repeats please D:!! This book was soooo amazing, it makes me so sad I finished it so quickly because I just couldn't put it down, OMG! So much romance going on in this one as if Mass took the time to pair them all up lol. I cried my eyes out towards the end though! Such an emotional roller coaster! ^w^ eek!

The world building in this Empire of Storms begins with the world already given to us in the previous novels of the series and layers beautifully on top of it, expanding our understanding of the different places on the map and off of it. Enough information is given to make the environment immersive without taking away from the storyline itself. The characters development was just as well done as in the previous novels. It’s easy to identify with most of the characters in some way and easier still to imagine interacting with them, adding beautifully to the immersive style of the novel. The story was interesting and, in many parts, hard to put down. I enjoyed reading through most of it (especially the end OMG). However, I find myself truly disliking the Elide and Lorcan arc. As someone who’s been in both physically and psychilogically abusive relationships, I felt like an unnecessary light was shone on the relationship. It was as if the characters are telling us that the abuser just needs the right person to turn them into Prince or Princess Charming (yes, abusers can be female). While I suppose it’s nice to think there’s someone out there capable of getting this type of person to change the way they treat others, it’s extremely unlikely. On another note entirely, I found this book in my local library’s Teen Books section. About halfway through the book, my thoughts were “There’s no way this is a teen book!” In several sections of the book, there are explicit descriptions of sexual acts and explicit violence. While, as an adult, I find the violence as a progressive part of the story I don’t think it should be classified as Young Adult so I won’t be putting it into that category on my blog. I had to think about this for just a little while before giving my rating. Yes it was epic, but at times it was slow. This was more about dotting the i's, and crossing the t's before the final battle. Epic! I can not wait for the final and will be buying her other series very soon!

One of the best series I have ever read

Sarah being the writer she is has done it all over again. I started reading this series by chance shortly after heir of fire published. In the time since then I've bought a digital and real copy of every book and novella from the TOG series. I don't know how she does it but Mrs. Maas is one of those authors that debuts once a generation and breathes life into a story that is both captivating and exhilarating. The story of the characters that Mrs. Maas so expertly crafted is enough to make this guy (who only swore by a very few fantasy authors) praise this series to any reader I come across. Mrs. Maas you've done it yet again.
