Bennett-Alexander and Hartman’s, Employment Law for Business, 4/e, addresses law and employment decisions from a managerial perspective. It is intended to instruct students on how to manage effectively and efficiently with full comprehension of the legal ramifications of their decisions. Students are shown how to think and analyze employment law facts using concrete examples of management-related legal dilemmas without clear-cut solutions. The methods of arriving at resolutions are emphasized, so that when the facts of the workplace problem are not quite the same, the student can still reach a good decision based on the legal considerations required by law, which remain relevant.

Meet the Author
Dawn D. Bennett - Alexander is a tenured associate professor of Employment Law and Legal Studies at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and an attorney admitted to practice in DC and six federal jurisdictions.
Laura P. Hartman is Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at DePaul University and is responsible for coordinating Academic Integrity for the university. She is also a Professor of Business Ethics and Legal Studies in the Management Department in DePaul’s College of Commerce, where she has received the university’s Excellence in Teaching Award, and serves as Research Director of DePaul’s Institute for Business and Professional Ethics. Her academic scholarship focuses on the ethics of the employment relationship with a primary emphasis in the areas of global labor conditions and standards, corporate governance and corporate culture, and the impact of technology on the employment relationship. Hartman graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. She lives in Chicago with her two daughters, Emma and Rachel.
