Meet the Author

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Patricia Seggebruch has been painting in water media, oil and encaustic for about twelve years. She has been teaching workshops at retreats (such as the enormously popular Artfest) since 1998, and she conducts demonstrations for Daniel Smith in Seattle/Bellevue, for ArtMedia in Portland, and for Ampersand Art Supply in Austin, Texas.

    The Best Encaustic Instructional Book

    I absolutely love this book. Patricia gives you so much information, lots of detail and instructions so that you can actually make your own encaustic piece easily. Every step of the process is documented, easy to follow and so inspirational. She presents ideas with a fresh creative twist, things I would never have thought to do. I've checked out quite a few books on encaustics and hers has much more information that encompasses a wide range of techniques. I didn't realize that I could incorporate so many other materials into a piece. I also like the alternatives she presents instead of just sticking with one medium, vendor or tool. Thanks for the inspiration - I refer to this book often and am sure it will get lots of use in the future. I hope she writes more.
