This is a large collection of all sorts of knots, but the knots are often poorly depicted, seldom described (re use, purpose of knot), and somewhat disorganized. It is thus a book for those few folks who care about SEEING images of all sorts of knots (and who can pretty well make their own assessments of the knots). And, the book has a few surprising errors, to boot. .:. Ashley's Book of Knots is a far better one, for the enthusiast; other, smaller, cheaper, and more focused knot books will be more useful to those with purely practical concerns (e.g., Nautical Lines & Splices, by Art & Paul SNYDER).
