A reference to US biomedical policy primarily since the early 1970s when political activity on the topic quickened. Focuses especially on policies that relate to the array of issues placed on the public agenda by changes in technology. Many of the topics also relate to bioethics, though the emphasis is on public policy. Most of the articles are at least a half page long, and include such entries as artificial heart, euthanasia in the Netherlands, informed consent in experimental procedures, and neural grafting.
