End of the World:

The '2012 Phenomenon' has become quite a hot topic for debate as the mysterious year is finally coming upon us; many people believe 2012 to mark the End of the World, while others believe that it will mark a time of critical change. Still others believe that it will pass with no major catastrophic incident.

"Doomsday: Surviving Global Catastrophe" does not simply discuss the '2012 Phenomenon', although it does provide some insight into the most talked about 2012 connection - the Maya Prophecies - as well as some other connections that could well be linked to the year 2012. But "Doomsday..." also looks at the much broader picture of potential catastrophic forces, some geological, some solar, and some even more mysterious; these are forces that could strike during certain periods, or even at any time in the unseen future. "Doomsday..." also takes a look at other ancient documentation from various cultures that seem to predict apocalyptic future events - again, the timing for such possible events is generally unknown, although there are many opinions in various social circles and with various individuals.

The second part of "Doomsday..." moves away from speculation about specific cataclysms, and on to survival in general; short-term survival is discussed first, with long-term survival following. As long-term survival is considered the more complicated scenario of the two, it is given much more attention as a factor of great import, and covers most of the remaining pages of the book.

"Doomsday..." is largely a book of speculation, as very few people are given the gift of foresight. One thing, however, is certain: nearly all scientists agree that some kind of major cataclysm is virtually guaranteed to occur at some point in the future - it is simply a matter of time.

Will you be prepared if the time comes in your lifetime?

Editorial Reviews

Roger Stamlin
"This is a great little collection of information on the subject of end-times, which includes eschatology from multiple religions and cultures, scientific data from modern researchers, and the author's own interpretations about the endlessly debatable '2012 phenomenon'. I really liked his idea that economics might end up playing a key role in 2012 catastrophe - this is a connection that is beginning to make a lot of sense. And the survival info is a great addition to this weekend reader..."
