I read “Ending Addiction for Good” because I'm interested in becoming a psychologist and wanted to learn what was currently being done in addiction treatment.
After reading the book I wish I could visit Cliffside Malibu. It's hard to imagine one place having so many different addiction specialists that provide many different treatments. It makes sense to offer every tool available to help someone recover from drug or alcohol treatment, but after doing some web searching, I haven't found another place that talks about as many treatments as Malibu does.
I love that they treat everyone as an individual and come up with treatment plans after they meet someone and get to know them. And that they also are flexible and will shift gears and alter the treatment plan they put in place initially if the person being treated seems to need something else. That kind of individualization makes sense and explains Cliffside's high level of success treating addicts.
I would definitely recommend this book. It has taught me a great deal about addiction and it will you, too.

This book on addiction is a game-changer. I have struggled with alcoholism 1/2 my life. Addiction runs in my family.
I have read every self-help book on the market. A friend of mine who went through Cliffside for inpatient treatment recommended this book to me.
I just loved it. It makes so much sense and actually talks about things that you can grasp and apply to your own life as opposed to every other
addiction book that talks about disease concepts and things that don't resonate for me. This takes recovery and living life successfully to another
level. Of course we would have to "go back" and look at old demons to stop drinking. Isn't that a no-brainer? Anyway, I highly recommend this book to people who are struggling with their own addictions as well as how to deal with loved ones who are.
