5 Stars! from Doody
Louis Graham
The fifth edition of this book comes seven years after its last printing and about 24 years since its original publication. Although quite different in theory of clinical applications since its 1972 printing, the book contains a comprehensive view at current endodontic clinical aspects. The purpose is to update changes in clinical applications toward the field of endodontics and reaffirm previous clinical aspects. Such objectives are indeed necessary; reviewing established methods and current trends helps solidify the reader's understanding. The author is very successful in meeting his objectives. This book is written for the practitioner using endodontics in his or her practice. Dr. Weine's experiences as practitioner, teacher, and author make him one of the foremost authorities on endodontics. This book is packed with pages upon pages of illustrations and diagrams. Each chapter is supported by a host of references. Those areas of major recent changes contain the most current references. The table of contents is standard along with its index. This is a quality work, exteriorly and especially interiorly. This fifth edition offers the reader many updates from its last edition. New areas include methods of how the new file systems work, a chapter on calculating working length, and the latest views on avulsion and sterilization. The remaining chapters offer the reader a wonderful update and review of the many areas of endodontics and their related subjects. Practitioners can use this book in their offices as a source of valuable reference materials and knowledge on the spot as situations arise.
