'ENDURING HARVESTS' is an exceptional cookbook! It is as wonderful to read as it is to cook from, and travel with. This is a 'keeper'! It has a fine shelf life and will last through the years!!! The easy format of presenting festival foods month-by-month throughout the ceremonial year is fantastic! I like the spiritual glimpses and 'Moons' and the deepening look into Native American celebrations through the foods and recipes shared. As an American Indian chef, I have enjoyed cooking and catering from ENDURING HARVESTS, and even learned a few things about other regions and tribes! This is a fabulous book! Beautiful illustrations by Mitzi Rawls, a noted Choctaw-American artist!
Outstanding resource on the most delicious traditional & modern cuisines of Native Americans throughout the seasons & events of the ceremonial year! Travel the 'Powwow Highway' & cook Native American foods with style & understanding. This exceptional book is also a fine text & teaching resource, which we use continually for our American Indian programming. This is a beautiful book just to read, especially with the artwork of Mitzi Rawls, noted Choctaw artist. Learn the Native moons for each month of the year, learn the many festivals, rites, & rituals you may attend in Indian Country, & the sensitivities that surround them. ENDURING HARVESTS is an elegant guide book & companion to travel America with greater enjoyment! Delicious foods! Beautiful People!
