Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Patsy West's 1998 revisionist history reconfigured discussions of Native Americans and tourism. Now in a revised, expanded edition, The Enduring Seminoles doesn't seem to have aged at all. West's description of how these Gator State natives responded imaginatively to radical economic changes while maintaining traditional cultural and social values turns standard postcolonial critiques on their head by revealing that the Seminoles were no mere passive victims of overwhelming social forces. Revelatory and readable.
