Overview

Enemy Within is the story of a young woman trying to find love, personal success and happiness in a world of travel, celebrity, disaster and money-all the while keeping a burdensome secret.

Fate blessed Karen Ager with fashion-model looks and a body to match, only to hand her a crippling disease. Karen's journey is one of heartbreak and humiliation, triumph and tragedy, brushes with rock 'n' roll legends and Hollywood celebrity and the quest for true love.

She grapples with relationships, infertility, grief and her ultimate powerlessness, finally accepting her disease and discovering its hidden gift as a catalyst for positive change.

The author, Karen Ager, is clearly a strong, resilient character in her own book. The reader is taken on a journey which begins with Karen's diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. But the book is so much more than that. I couldn't put it down! There are many sub plots which any reader will relate to because we all have our own 'enemies within.' Whether the enemy is a disease, a secret, a loss or a broken relationship you will relate to this story and the author's clever ability to navigate her way through anger towards acceptance and love. This book is one for Oprah's Book Club!
