Overview

Rising gas prices create a pain in our pocketbooks with every visit to the gas pump. What can you do to stop your dependence on big oil and imported fuel?

Energy and EV Secrets not only spells out how your oil dependence is undermining your individual bank accounts; it shows how imported oil is impacting the security of our troops, the health of our economy, and the creation of good jobs. The first half of the book will make it crystal clear that changing these conditions is a pressing priority. That priority will only increase as the global competition for oil intensifies over the coming decades with direct impacts on your gas prices.

The book provides reliable facts and figures from national and international sources to create readily understandable graphics. These graphics and the accompanying descriptions provide a clear picture of the global oil challenges and the need to save energy. When you see these facts, it will show you the way to move forward.

The EV Solution
The book goes on to show how to stop the oil dependence by making the transition to the electric vehicle (EV) solution. The EV solution saves energy and involves cutting your fuel costs to pay for the electric cars and e-bikes. It can stop the need for importing oil and free you from the tyranny of gas prices. It takes all of the wrong minded ideas about electric vehicles, e-bikes and plug-in hybrids like the Volt and puts those ideas to rest. You will learn how the old ideas and outdated excuses about EVs are all part of the mindset that keeps us addicted to oil.

Energy and EV Secrets makes it clear that you can free yourself from the age of the internal combustion engine the ICE age. It will help you to develop the EV Mindset to become oil free and to cut the drain of money that goes with rising gas prices.

* How would your life be different if you could get 100 MPG or use fuel that costs $1.50 a gallon?
* What if you could go 3,000 miles on one tank of gas with plug-in hybrids like the Chevy Volt?

This book will let you find out how to do that.

EV and Energy Secrets gives answers to most of the questions that a prospective Plug-in car buyer might have when trying to make the decision to switch from the old gas car to a plug-in vehicle. It lets you into the secrets of EV ownership
All this is done in a way that is easy to read and more importantly easy to understand. Over the years I have read and written much on this subject but Russell just seems to have found a way to tell this story in a much more understandable way...

"Energy and EV Secrets: How the volt, plug-in hybrids, electric cars and e-bikes can save energy and cut your gas prices" is exceptionally well written and thoroughly 'reader friendly'. Informed and informative, "Energy and EV Secrets is an invaluable contribution to our on-going national dialogue about the role and value of hybrid autos, electric cars and electric bikes to improving our quality of life now and for future generations.
Kirkus Review - Professional Reviewers
Sydneys technical explanations bring a wealth of understanding and contagious enthusiasm that make an absorbing read for gearheads and novices alike. After a cogent look at the spiraling costs of oil production, he turns to electric vehicles as a surefire liberation from the tyranny of the price at the pump. Sydney acknowledges EVs require a paradigm shift from an internal combustion engine mindset to an EV mindset An informative, infectious introduction to the joys of electric vehicles.
NetGalley - Bastian Weisskopf
A true eye opener. I devoured this book and really liked what it had to say about advantages of electric vehicles compared to gasoline powered ones. Also the dependency of a stable national security being based on oil imports and the possible consequences of a move towards an EV (electric vehicle) only society made me think about how much we tie ourselves to the oil industry and also made me wonder if there's anything we can do to break free from depending on others for our own energy needs.

Makes a compelling argument that electric vehicles are no longer the transportation of the future, but are viable options now for the average driver.
